Perceptions of childhood disability

Malaysia

Malaysia

Anthrologica undertook a mixed-methods knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) study to expand national understanding of community perceptions of disability, and provide an evidence base to inform communication for behaviour and social change that addresses the root causes of stigma, discrimination and inequity as experienced by children with disabilities and their families.  The research engaged children and youth with and without disabilities through creative participatory workshops and was submitted for the Best of UNICEF Research 2017.  In addition to the full report, informatics reports were produced in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, in braille and in audio recording.
