Anthrologica was commissioned by the World Health Organization (WHO) to lead the development of the strategies section of a Knowledge Translation Toolkit for Respectful Maternal and Newborn Health. The work aimed to translate evidence into practical guidance for implementing respectful maternity care across diverse settings. Drawing on systematic and scoping reviews, Anthrologica synthesised global evidence on strategies to reduce mistreatment and promote respectful care, and provided technical input across the Toolkit’s development. The Toolkit supports WHO’s ongoing efforts to improve quality of care and uphold the rights and dignity of women and newborns in facility-based childbirth.
