Social norms around young children with disability

Mozambique

Mozambique
Anthrologica provided qualitative and participatory research expertise to inform the development of a social and behaviour change strategy (SBC) for UNICEF Mozambique. The study explored social norms, beliefs and attitudes shaping how families and communities support children and adolescents with disabilities. Using the Behaviour Drivers Model, Anthrologica conducted participatory workshops with adolescents, caregivers and service providers. The findings informed a national SBC strategy aimed at reducing stigma, challenging harmful practices, and promoting inclusion and respect for the rights of persons with disabilities.
