Childhood disability and barriers to referral uptake: the Key Informant Method

Bangladesh

Bangladesh
Anthrologica conducted a detailed qualitative study in two rural districts of Bangladesh as part of a London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) project to develop and evaluate the Key Informant Method for identifying children with disabilities. The research explored barriers to healthcare referral uptake and provided evidence-based recommendations to improve access to services. Findings informed strategies to strengthen referral systems for children with disabilities in low-resource South Asian settings.
