Rachel James

is Anthrologica’s SBC and Emergencies Lead.  Rachel is social and behaviour change specialist with a Masters in Applied Anthropology and Participatory Development in Gender from the Australian National University and a Masters in Public Health from the Queensland University of Technology. She has over 20 years’ experience designing and managing regional and country-level health programmes in development and emergency contexts in East and Southern Africa, South America, Asia and the Pacific, working with UN, INGOs, civil society organisations and governments. Rachel draws on her background as a paediatric nurse, mixing clinical knowledge with public health anthropology across different cultures and settings.
